Swag Out!
Welcome to the first post in a new series that S.W.A.G’s beauty community is bringing you. It’s called “Princess vs Pauper” which is where a high end product will be reviewed and put to the test to see if it really is the "cult favourite" it's been talked up to be or if there is a good (cheap) alternative to it.
Princess-
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue: If you’re a Sephora lover and addict like myself then your paths with this perfume have bound to have crossed. But for those of you who have not tried this product out then I highly recommend it. It’s a strong scent that lasts all day without being too strong and over whelming.
Here is the Sephora website description:
“A stunning perfume, overwhelming and irresistible like the joy of living. Surprising and colored: the liveliness of Sicilian citron, the happiness of Granny Smith apple, the spontaneity of bluebells. Feminine and resolute: the intensity of jasmine, the freshness of bamboo, the charm of white rose. Deep and true: the character of cedarwood, the fullness of amber, the embrace of musk.Notes:Sicilian Citron, Bluebell, Granny Smith Apple, Jasmine Sambac, Bamboo, White Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Musk.Style:Deep and true.”
This perfume is on the more expensive side however it does range in various sizes as well as the mini travel size bottle.
Pauper-
PINK “Fresh & Clean” All Over Body Mist by Victoria Secret
Now after lots of searching I have found a comparable and good alternative to the pricey Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue perfume. Fresh and Clean has notes of apple and lily which compares to the apple and floral scent in the Light Blue. I would say that the Fresh and Clean is a more age appropriate one for the younger crowd and a good day time scent in general.
In terms of cost, the Fresh & Clean is a fraction of the amount of the Light Blue.
Side Note: I won’t put in the cost for either as they range depending on where you live but both can be found online with the currency of your country.
The Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue will always win in my books, as I know it hasn't only taken over my heart but those of many. But for someone who is considering it and is unsure/ doesn't want to spend the money on a "maybe" product then
the Fresh & Clean is a good cheap alternative.
Yes to both!
