Swag Out!
The secret this Fall season is on everyone’s lips. There are lots of different trends going on at the moment but one that you can notice across the board is sporting a bold lip. Regardless of what style you have, a dark lip will complete your look.
If you haven’t found the right colour for you, then a good one to start with is a classic satin lipstick by Mac Cosmetics called Captive. Captive is a deep plum colour that looks good on any skin tone. Two good lipliners that can either tone down the look or play it up are Half- Red and Currant.
The Day to Night Duo
If you are unsure about wearing a bold lip then start off with Half-Red as your lip liner. Half- Red is not an exact match to Captive but is a nice complementing colour to blend together. The combination of the two, make a great pair for those new to wearing a dark lip as it can be toned down a lot but is still bold enough to be apart of the trend. Depending on how far you want to go with this look you can either dab a bit of Captive on your lips or apply it straight on for a sophisticated every-day look.
Tips
Lipliners -
There are two approaches when using lipliners:
- By out lining your lips with a liner it helps to keep your lipstick from running off your lips.
- Filling in your entire lip with the liner is the perfect base for your lipstick to help enhance the colours.
If you’re ready to go full force into the bold lip trend then pairing Currant with Captive is what you need. Currant is a darker shade with a deep purple undertone that really enhances Captive, making it a rich, sultry bold lip, leaving everyone who sees this duo saying “WOW!”
Tips
Concealer-
After you apply your lipstick, outline your lips with your favourite concealer. This will help to clean up any mistakes and imperfections that may of happened when you applied the colour. By cleaning up around your lipstick, it creates the image of smooth, precise lines around your lips to help them stand out even more.
